How we create our murals.

When you contact us for a mural, we begin writing down every element that you consider to be essential in the design, as well as things you would like to avoid. Even when our customers don’t know what they want, we take the difficulty out of the design and land on a theme that is sure to meet or exceed your expectations.

It all begins with a phone call, an interview…

We draft up a preliminary sketch of the work to be done. This isn’t by any means a final design, but helps the artist visualize the form, size, and potential details of the design. We use this information when figuring the mural cost, which is calculated in dollars per square foot. Complex designs will cost more than simple renditions, the larger the design, the cheaper the sq.ft rate.

Your design begins to take shape…

We visit the site and take pictures of the wall to be painted. This isn’t just for a before and after-shot, it gives us a digital canvas where we can illustrate the concept art and provide a mock-up to the customer. It also provides us with a solid photo reference to calculate the square footage of the mural.

Next, we photograph the area…

We inspect the wall for the condition of the base coat we will be painting on. This will determine how long the mural lasts outside in the elements. Any base coats or priming before painting will result in an additional cost per square foot.

We check the integrity of the walls…

How accessible is the site? Does it require special scaffolding or lifts to paint? Is the area out in the elements or in a climate controlled building? All of these factors affect the final price per square foot. But no matter the challenge, we are up for the task, where others would back down!

We overcome the challenges…

We measure twice before painting once! We take as many measurements of the area as we can using tape measures, lasers, and even Google earth data. We then overlay a grid to the same scale over the entire image to precisely figure out square footage. Finally, we apply the total square footage to the current rate based on the factors above. What the customer receives is a final price for the job: No hidden fees, no surprises!

The scope is calculated with precision…

The contract specifies the scope of the work, number of mockups and revisions, artist and client responsibilities, indemnification clauses, deadlines, payment information and all the other legalities that protect both parties. A down payment is required before any work begins, but if the customer would like to submit an artwork deposit before signing the contract, that is an option. Any deposits are non-refundable but are always applied towards the total cost of the mural.

We draft a professional contract.

Using the images taken from the site, we draw right over the wall with a digital paintbrush in Procreate software. Over the next few days to weeks the artist will use this technique to create the concept art and mock-ups for the client, so that they are able to better visualize what the final design will look like on the wall.

The challenge begins!

The client is involved in the entire concept process. Many minor revisions are allowed along the way, including color schemes, minor details, etc. One major revision is allowed. Additional major revisions (if necessary) are drafted for an additional charge. So far, none of our customers have requested a major revision to our work, and our final product always looks better than our concept art!

We Break Ground!!!

Watch Your Dreams Take Shape!

It’s not just a big painting project, it’s an unforgettable experience as you have a front-row seat to life-sized artwork that no picture will ever be able to capture… and it’s on YOUR building!

We absolutely never use cheap materials

We only use top-of the line, light-fast, professional artist quality undercoats, paints and pigments, carefully selected for the specific job at hand. The results are always bright, vivid, accurate colors that turn heads and will last for years to come.

How many years? With a proper foundation and sealant, our murals can last upwards of 15-20 years!

Not only are progress shots taken throughout the project, but the artist records time lapses, first-person video and creates a dynamic video compilation of the mural from start to finish. The end result is a professional documentary-style production video, and uploaded to YouTube several weeks after the project has been completed, complete with a shoutout promotion of your company.

The Entire Process is Documented.

It’s Done
